Amitaba is an Italian Tour Operator founded in 2000 (see travel history). Over the years we have explored many countries around the world, which have been narrowed down to a select few destinations where we have developed a particular specialisation and working knowledge of the culture and territory.
This approach has earned us the trust and loyalty of our travellers and guests; and as a result, we have been lucky to form solid friendships and partnerships with many who have travelled with us, due in part to our expertise and cultural appreciations.
Of course whilst cultivating this deep knowledge and expertise of a select few countries outside of our home, we also organised a few activities in Italy – for instance, in the Chianti region of Tuscany, exploratory treks in the Alps, and various residential seminars on the breadth of Eastern Culture and History.
Whilst before the Covid pandemic hit, we never thought to offer a dedicated Italian trip around the location of our Head Office (in the mountains encircling Lake Como), we have of course welcomed plenty of visitors here informally, all of whom were amazed at the natural beauty of our scenery, not to mention the quality of the local mountain cuisine.
Therefore, to fill the gap whilst we wait for the world to become as accessible as it once was, we have developed a fantastic programme that takes advantage of our deep knowledge and love of our mountains: “Lake Como: Discover the culture and mountains of the Italian Alps”
12/6 – 26/6
3/7 – 10/7 -17/7 – 24/7
11/9 – 18/9
Most people who reside in the Lariana Alpine region are convinced that they live in the most beautiful part of the world: this programme aims to find out if they are right! You will scale panoramic peaks, experiencing the overwhelming joy invoked by the 360° views over a vast ocean of mountains, valleys, and sky-reflecting lakes.
